Emirates celebrates world famous German festival Oktoberfest offering its passengers the opportunity to enjoy traditional Bavarian cuisine and favorite German entertainment on its flights to and from Munich, Hamburg, Düsseldorf and Frankfurt, as well as in its lounges in Germany, from 21 September to 6 October.
As part of the Oktoberfest celebrations, Emirates passengers of all classes can enjoy a Bavarian starter, main course and dessert for both lunch and dinner, snacks in the airline’s famous A380 lounge and a variety of classic Oktoberfest dishes in the world-famous airport lounges.
On flights from Dubai to Germany First and first class passengers can enjoy starters such as potato and leek soup with herb butter, beef broth with meatballs, carrots and mushrooms, as well as asparagus salad with thin slices of veal, cauliflower puree, poached quail eggs and herb butter dressing.
Main courses include roast beef tenderloin served with gravy, braised cabbage and breadcrumbs, while entrees come with a choice of the classic Kaiser roll, the Austrian garlic bread. Exclusive First Place desserts include Kaiserschmarren – sweet sliced ​​pancakes with plum compote and cinnamon cream, and Distinguished Place desserts are apple pie served with crème anglaise.
Economy travelers can enjoy an appetizer of Lyoner turkey and cheese salad, accompanied by red pepper chicken in sauteed potato and sauerkraut sauce and a delicious dessert of honey almond cake.
On flights from Germany to Dubai, the menu for passengers in first and business class includes roasted pumpkin soup with roasted pumpkin seeds and a charcuterie and cheese platter with slices of smoked turkey, veal salami, Obacda and Emmental cheeses, cream cheese, boiled egg, radishes and pickled cucumbers.
The main course includes Braised Beef Shank served with Gravy, Celery Mashed Potatoes, Roasted Vegetables and Braised Cabbage and Dessert includes Apple Pie with Crème Anglaise and Berries. Economy class customers can enjoy an appetizer of German potato salad with cherry tomatoes and parsley accompanied by roast chicken served with red pepper cream, broccoli and potatoes.
The A380 lounge offers small cream cheese and chive sandwiches, Emmental cheese with Laugen bread, and the ultimate German savory snack – pretzels with coarse salt and butter for Oktoberfest. Free treats include gingerbread, black forest cake, plum cake and German mascarpone cheesecake. In addition, before landing, passengers will receive a souvenir – gingerbread in the shape of a heart and an Oktoberfest decoration.
In Emirates lounges at Munich, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Düsseldorf airports, passengers can enjoy a range of dishes such as Käsepätzle – the German version of macaroni and cheese made with egg pasta, grilled onions and Emmental cheese, light Obazda Schnapps cheese and pretzels, delicious potato salad with parsley, pretzels and sauerbraten – stewed beef in potato pasta sauce.
Airline passengers can enjoy the Oktoberfest season on ice, Emirates’ award-winning in-flight entertainment system, which includes a selection of 40 German films, more than 350 Hollywood films dubbed in German and Bud’s collection of classic films Spencer and Terence Hill, is available in German, Italian and English – as well as classic Italian Westerns beloved in Germany such as Banana Joe, Die Miami Cops, Zwei außer and Rand und Band.
