Direct Athens-Charlotte flights from American Airlines in 2025 with connections to over 130 destinations.
OR American Airlines will add a new route to Greece in 2025 with seasonal routes in between of Athens (ATH) and Charlotte, North Carolina (CLT), from June 6, 2025.
Charlotte is America’s second largest hub and provides easy connections to more than 130 destinations in North America. American’s new route will complement existing seasonal routes to Chicago (ORD), New York (JFK) and Philadelphia (PHL).

Jose Freigvice president of international operations for American Airlines. “As Greece continues to be one of the most popular destinations for travelers in North America, the addition of direct flights to Charlotte will better connect more than 60 destinations in the southeastern states with all that Greece has to offer. Next year, American will offer flights to more destinations in the United States from Greece than any other airline, providing the best access to our network for Greek and American travelers.”

As the airline continues to grow its transatlantic service, American will also add new routes to Madrid (MAD), Milan (MXP) and Rome (FCO). Beginning in 2024, American will also restore flights to Copenhagen, Denmark (CPH), Naples, Italy (NAP) and Nice, France (NCE) for the 2025 summer season.
