A new Windows 11 update, KB5043145, is causing significant malfunctions for some users. After installation, devices running Windows 11 versions 22H2 and 23H2 face blue (BSOD) or green (GSOD) screens. In other cases, computers trigger BitLocker recovery after multiple boot failures, leaving users without access to their machine without the BitLocker key.
A new optional update has been available for Windows 11 users since a few days Critical issues after its installation have been confirmed by Microsoft. The company states that it is aware of these incidents and is currently conducting an investigation to determine the cause(s). This situation is not unprecedented in the history of Windows 11 support. Similar incidents have already been reported with previous updates, notably last June.
