The parent company of WhatsApp Meta is often criticized for its privacy practices. Therefore, WhatsApp is no exception and also creates security issues, in particular leaking users’ IP addresses. These addresses can be used for find your position whether on a smartphone or computer.
Fortunately, there is a solution for hide your location on whatsapp and prevent us from being able to find you by your IP address.
To do this:
- Go to the application settings at the top right, via the “…” menu.
- Click on Settings, then go to the Privacy tab and scroll down to Advanced Settings. You will then find two options:
- Protect your IP address during WhatsApp conversations.
- Disable link preview in chats (which also protects your IP address).
3. Enable these 2 options to improve your privacy.
