The Winter Olympics is a major sporting event that exclusively takes place in winter sports on snowy and icy surfaces. The next Winter Olympic Games will be held in Italy. They will start on Friday, February 6 and end on Sunday, February 22, 2026. Two cities will share the event, Milan and Cortina d’Abezo. Italy will host the Olympic Games for the fourth time, while Cortina d’Abbezo, located in the north of the country, will host the Winter Olympics for the second time. At Milan indoor sports will be held Cortina d’Abezzo sport on naturally snow-covered tracks. In addition, some events will be held in Verona, Rasen-Antholz and the Valtellina and Val di Fiemme valleys. A total of 116 events will be held in 16 sports.
