The Secretary General of the EOT, Andreas Fiorentinos, visited IFTM – Top Resa 2024 in Paris, strengthening the cooperation between Greece and France in tourism and promoting new Greek destinations.
Paris and the International Tourist Fair IFTM – TOp Fringe 2024 its Secretary General visited EOT mr Andreas Fiorentinos representing Greece and the EOT.
For our country, France is the third most important tourist market in the world in terms of tourist flows and shows growth trends for 2024, both in terms of arrivals and tourist revenues, according to estimates by French travel agents.
In this context, the Hellenic Tourism Organization participates again this year in the International Tourism Exhibition in Paris with a stylish stand and an expanded participation of 23 co-exhibitors, including regions, municipalities, travel agencies, DMC, etc. c IFTM – TOp Fringe 2024 I participate a total of 1,500 exhibitors from 180 destinations.
The Secretary General of the EOT attended the opening of the exhibition, met with the Ambassador of Greece to France Mr. Dimitrios Zevelakis and held a series of meetings with the most important players in the French tourism market such as airlines, tour operators and travel agents.
The Secretary General of the EOT highlighted to his high-ranking interlocutors the importance of the French market for Greek tourism, analyzed the strategy and priority axes for the EOT and the Ministry of Tourism based on the main objectives recently set by the Prime Minister, stressed the need for the promotion and visibility of new Greek destinations in mainland and insular Greece in all months of the year and explored the possibility of training the sales staff of the most important travel agents in France regarding the Greek tourism product.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, Mr Andreas Fiorentinos, held a meeting at the headquarters of the French EOT service with its leaders Driver Michelin, in order to evaluate the cooperation so far, but also the prospects for its expansion.
Finally, Mr. Fiorentinos spoke to a number of journalists from travel reports, professional travel pages, popular political newspapers, websites or travel magazines such as Le Figaroη The daily newspaper, το MrandThe Lords of Travelτο All over the place, το TourMagwhile also giving an interview to Euronews. He also gave this at an event presenting the Syros destination, which was jointly organized by the EOT Service of France Abroad with the Deputy Mayor of Syros, Mme. Christiana Papizzi, greeting and highlighting the uniqueness of our Greek island.
More specifically, Mr. Andreas Fiorentinos met – accompanied by the Director of Tourism Promotion of the EOT, Mrs. Eleni Mitrakis, and the Director of the EOT Office. from France, Ms Emys Anagnostopoulou – senior executives of Air France, Transavia, Voyage Privé, FRAM, Voyages Héliades, NG Travel, Easyjet Holidays, Last Minute and Havas Voyages, assessing this year’s season so far and bookings until the end of the year.
