Fall is truly a perfect time to travel. Costs are lower, destinations tend to have more tolerable temperatures and visitors are fewer. Expedia has revealed the most popular destinations for this fall season.
The list is based on flight searches from USA between September 3 and November 15, 2024 compared to the same period last year. In general, searches for international travel in the fall are increasing year on year.
The most popular destination for the fall of 2024
No destination stands out like this Tulum which took first place as the most popular destination for the fall of 2024with searches up 70% compared to 2023. It is one of the three destinations of Mexico that made the list, with Mexico City in eighth place (with 40%) and Cancun in tenth (with 35%).
Mallorca, Spain also saw a 70% increase in searches and took second place, while Curaçao came in third with a 55% increase.
Like Mexico, Japan there are three destinations on the list: Tokyo and Kyoto with a 50% increase in searches and Osaka with 45%. See the full list below.
